GM and state owned SAIC , one of the largest manufacturer in China, have been working on this new product since 2001. The brand name for this affordable , tiny electric car is SGMW and the model is known as BAJUN E100

This vehicle can travel 100 miles on a single charge. Although a tiny car, it is very spacious for 2 people and is being targeted for city commuters. The lithium Ion battery can charge in 7.5 hrs and is also capable of capturing energy through the braking system.

More than 5000 people have registered fro the first 200 cars and another 500 will become available in the next week or so.
